Obedience

"Man unquestionably has impressive powers... But after all our obedience and good works, we cannot be saved from the effects of our sins without the grace extended by the atonement of Jesus Christ... Man cannot earn his own salvation."
--Dallin H. Oaks, "What Think Ye of Christ?", Ensign, November 1988

"Holiness is the strength of the soul. It comes by faith and through obedience to God's laws and ordinances. God then purifies the heart by faith, and the heart becomes purged from that which is profane and unworthy. When holiness is achieved by conforming to God's will, one knows intuitively that which is wrong and that which is right before the Lord. Holiness speaks when there is silence, encouraging that which is good or reproving that which is wrong."
--James E. Faust, "Standing in Holy Places," Ensign, May 2005, 62

"I see a wonderful future in a very uncertain world. If we will cling to our values, if we will build on our inheritance, if we will walk in obedience before the Lord, if we will simply live the gospel we will be blessed in a magnificent and wonderful way. We will be looked upon as a peculiar people who have found the key to a peculiar happiness."
--Gordon B. Hinckley, "Look to the Future", Ensign, Nov. 1997, 67

"Testimony requires the nurturing by the prayer of faith, the hungering for the word of God in the scriptures, and the obedience to the truth we have received. There is danger in neglecting prayer. There
is danger to our testimony in only casual study and reading of the scriptures. They are necessary nutrients for our testimony."
--President Henry B. Eyring, "A Living Testimony", April 2011 Young Women’s Conference

"I too believe that God will always make a way where there is no way. I believe that if we will walk in obedience to the commandments of God, if we will follow the counsel of the priesthood, he will open a way even where there appears to be no way."
--Gordon B. Hinckley, "If Ye Be Willing and Obedient", Ensign, Jul 1995, 2

"When we truly understand what it means to love as Jesus Christ loves us, the confusion clears and our priorities align. Our walk as disciples of Christ becomes more joyful. Our lives take on new meaning. Our relationship with our Heavenly Father becomes more profound. Obedience becomes a joy rather than a burden."-Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "The Love of God", Ensign, Nov 2009, 21–24

Willing obedience provides lasting protection against Satan’s alluring and tantalizing temptations. Jesus is our perfect example of obedience. Learn to do as He did when Satan tempted Him in the wilderness. Even though He was weakened by fasting, His answer was quick and firm: 'Get thee behind me, Satan.'" -Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, Live in Obedience, April 1994 General Conference

A knowledge of truth and the answers to our greatest questions come to us as we are obedient to the commandments of God.- Thomas S. Monson "Obedience brings blessings"  April 2013

"Divine covenants make strong Christians. I urge each one to qualify for and receive all the priesthood ordinances you can and then faithfully keep the promises you have made by covenant. In times of distress, let your covenants be paramount and let your obedience be exact. Then you can ask in faith, nothing wavering, according to your need, and God will answer. He will sustain you as you work and watch. In His own time and way He will stretch forth his hand to you, saying, 'Here am I.'"
-Elder D. Todd Christofferson, "The Power of Covenants", April 2009 General Conference

"There are rules and laws to help ensure our physical safety. Likewise, the Lord has provided guidelines and commandments to help ensure our spiritual safety so that we might successfully navigate this often-treacherous mortal existence and return eventually to our Heavenly Father."
-President Thomas S. Monson, Obedience Brings Blessings, April 2013 General Conference

Being obedience to the commandments can bring us alot of happines because the lord would bless us for those efforts to keep those covenants that we made with him when we accept to get baptize. obedience not only bring us blessings but also help us to understand better God's plans to us here in the earth even thought that God's ways are not our ways and God 's time is not our time we should always we patients and be obedient so we can receive all those blessings that he has for us.

Temple blessing

"The temple is a sacred edifice, a holy place, where essential saving ceremonies and ordinances are performed to prepare us for exaltation. It is important that we gain a sure knowledge that our preparation to enter the holy house and that our participation in these ceremonies and covenants are some of the most significant events we will experience in our mortal lives." --Robert D. Hales, "Blessings of the Temple", Ensign, Oct 2009, 46–49

"Without question, we need to be informed of the happenings of the world. But modern communication brings into our homes a drowning cascade of the violence and misery of the worldwide human race. There comes a time when we need to find some peaceful spiritual renewal. "I acknowledge with great gratitude the peace and contentment we can find for ourselves in the spiritual cocoons of our homes, our sacrament meetings, and our holy temples. In these peaceful environments, our souls are rested. We have the feeling of having come home." --James E. Faust, "Gratitude As a Saving Principle," Ensign, May 1990, 86

The temple ordinances are so imbued with symbolic meaning as to provide a lifetime of productive contemplation and learning. Ponder each word and activity in the temple. Study how they interrelate. As you ponder the significance of those matters, think of them in light of your relationship to the Savior and His to our Father in Heaven.-Richard G. Scott "receive the temple blessings" April 1999

While each temple increases the influence of righteousness in the earth, the greatest blessings, of course, come to those who actually attend the temple. There we receive further light and knowledge and make solemn covenants that, if followed, help us walk in the path of discipleship. In short, the temple teaches us about the sacred purpose of life and helps us get our true physical and spiritual bearings. - Dieter F. Uchtdorf " Temple blessings" Ensign August 2010

“The Latter-day Saints are a covenant people. From the day of baptism through the spiritual milestones of our lives, we make promises with God and He makes promises with us. He always keeps His promises offered through His authorized servants, but it is the crucial test of our lives to see if we will make and keep our covenants with Him”- Henry B. Eyring Ensign, Nov. 1996, 30

“We believe in the gift of healing. To me, this gift extends to the healing of both the body and the spirit. The Spirit speaks peace to the soul. …
“The Lord has provided many avenues by which we may receive this healing influence. I am grateful that the Lord has restored temple work to the earth. … Our temples provide a sanctuary where we may go to lay aside many of the anxieties of the world. Our temples are places of peace and tranquillity. In these hallowed sanctuaries God ‘healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. - James E. Faust Ensign, May 1992, 7
“There are many tasks to be performed in temple and family history work. We should encourage our members to make prayerful selection of the things they can do in their individual circumstances and in view of their current Church callings. …“There are family organizations to be formed, family projects to be planned, hearts to be touched, prayers to be offered, doctrines to be learned, children to be taught, living and dead relatives to be identified, recommends to be obtained, temples to be visited, covenants to be made, and ordinances to be received” -Dallin H. Oaks Ensign, June 1989,
“We have that most reassuring of all final promises: The power which binds us together in righteousness is greater than any force—any force—that might try to separate us. That is the power of covenant theology and the power of priesthood ordinances. That is the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ”- Jeffrey R. Holland   Ensign, June 1986, 32

“Following the acceptance of the first four principles of the gospel and a reasonable time in proving ourselves by conducting our lives in harmony with its teachings, it is then possible to enter the Lord’s temple and receive the endowment. …“After receiving your own endowment, you may be united with your companion and sealed in marriage for time and eternity. …“How glorious are the Lord’s teachings to his children that there can be eternal family associations with grandparents, parents, children, and grandchildren in one eternal family organization”-L Tom Perry Ensign, May 1982, 54–55

“An eternal bond doesn’t just happen as a result of sealing covenants we make in the temple. How we conduct ourselves in this life will determine what we will be in all the eternities to come. To receive the blessings of the sealing that our Heavenly Father has given to us, we have to keep the commandments and conduct ourselves in such a way that our families will want to live with us in the eternities. The family relationships we have here on this earth are important, but they are much more important for their effect on our families for generations in mortality and throughout all eternity”- Robert D. Hales Ensign, Nov. 1996, 65

From this topic i learned that temple is a sacred place were we could feel closer to God and we can enjoy this blessing if we are obedient to his commandments. the temple can bring many places to our life including the opportunity to have a eternal family, which is a big blessing and having this can of knowledge it just make me work harder towards being worthy of entering the temple.

faith

“You have the potential to become anything to which you set your mind. You have a mind and a body and a spirit. With these three working together, you can walk the high road that leads to achievement and happiness. But this will require effort and sacrifice and faith”.- President Gordon B. Hinckley, April 2004, Young Women Conference

“My beloved brothers and sisters fear not. Be of good cheer. The future is as bright as your faith.” -Thomas S. Monson, “Be of Good Cheer,” Liahona and Ensign, May 2009, 92.

"The formula of faith is to hold on, work on, see it through, and let the distress of earlier hours—real or imagined—fall away in the abundance of the final reward." - Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, April 2012, The Labourers in the Vineyard, General Conference.

"I ask everyone within the sound of my voice to take heart, be filled with faith, and remember the Lord has said He “would fight [our] battles, [our] children’s battles, and [the battles of our] children’s children." - Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, October 2008, The Ministry of Angels, General Conference.

"Remove any of your fear with faith. Trust the power of God to guide you." - Elder M. Russell Ballard, April 2012, That the Lost May Be Found, General Conference.

"It is our faith in Jesus Christ that sustains us at the crossroads of life’s journey." - Elder Quentin L. Cook, October 2007, Live by Faith and Not by Fear, General Conference.

"Remove any of your fear with faith. Trust the power of God to guide you." - Elder M. Russell Ballard, April 2012, That the Lost May Be Found, General Conference.

"However much faith to obey God we now have, we will need to strengthen it continually and keep it refreshed constantly. We can do that by deciding now to be more quick to obey and more determined to endure. Learning to start early and to be steady are the keys to spiritual preparation. Procrastination and inconsistency are its mortal enemies."--Henry B. Eyring, "Spiritual Preparedness: Start Early and Be Steady," Ensign, Nov. 2005, 38

"So where should each of us make our stand? As we demonstrate our devotion to God by our daily acts of righteousness, He can know where we stand. For all of us this life is a time of sifting and refining. We all face trials. Individual members in the early days of the Church were tested and refined when they had to decide if they had the faith . . . to put their belongings in a wagon or a pioneer handcart and travel across the American plains. Some did not have the faith. Those who did traveled 'with faith in every footstep.' In our time we are going through an increasingly difficult time of refining and testing. The tests are more subtle because the lines between good and evil are being eroded. Very little seems to be sacred in any of our public communication. In this environment we will need to make sure where we stand all of the time in our commitment to eternal truths and covenants."-James E. Faust, "Where Do I Make My Stand?" Ensign, Nov. 2004, 21

"When the challenges of mortality come, and they come for all of us, it may seem hard to have faith and hard to believe. At these times only faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His Atonement can bring us peace, hope, and understanding. Only faith that He suffered for our sakes will give us the strength to endure to the end. When we gain this faith, we experience a mighty change of heart, and like Enos, we become
stronger and begin to feel a desire for the welfare of our brothers and sisters. We pray for them, that they too will be lifted and strengthened through faith on the Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ."
--Robert D Hale, "Finding Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ", November 2004 Ensign pg 70

Faith takes a lot of courage but when you start to understand it  you start having hope that all those things are going to come true,my  faith in the lord Jesus Christ is so big and strong because i know he loves me and he wants the best for me.

Family History

Many of your ancestors died never having the chance to accept the gospel and to receive the blessings and promises you have received. The Lord is fair and He is loving. And so He prepared for you and me a way for us to have the desire of our hearts to offer to our ancestors all the blessings He has offered us. “The plan to make that possible has been in place from the beginning. The Lord gave promises to His children long ago. …“'Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: “And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse' (Malachi 4:5-6).”—Henry B. Eyring, “Hearts Bound Together,” Ensign, May 2005

“This work, unselfishly given in behalf of those on the other side, comes nearer to the
Unparalleled vicarious work of the Savior than any other of which I know.”
-- President Gordon B. Hinckley, Ensign, Nov 1985, 53

“There somehow seems to be the feeling that genealogical work is an all-or-nothing responsibility. Genealogical work is another responsibility for every Latter-day Saint, and we may do it successfully along with all the other callings and responsibilities that rest upon us…You can fulfill your obligations to your kindred dead and to the Lord without forsaking your other Church callings. You can do it without abandoning your family responsibilities. You can do this work. You can do it without becoming a so called expert in it.”-- Elder Boyd K. Packer, Ensign, Jan 1977, 8

“There are many different things our members can do to help in the redeeming of the dead, in temple and family history work. Some involve callings. Others are personal. All are expressions of devotion and discipleship. All present opportunities for sacrifice and service.”- Elder Dallin H. Oaks, Ensign, June 1989, 6

“Every activity, every lesson, all we do in the Church, point to the Lord and His holy house. Our efforts to proclaim the gospel, perfect the Saints, and redeem the dead all lead to the temple. “
-- Elder Russell M. Nelson, “Personal Preparation for Temple Blessings,”
Ensign, May 2001, 32

Do you young people want a sure way to eliminate the influence of the adversary in your life? Immerse yourself in searching for your ancestors, prepare their names for the sacred vicarious ordinances available in the temple, and then go to the temple to stand as proxy for them to receive the ordinances of baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost. -Richard G. Scott, The Joy of Redeeming the Dead, Conference October 2012

I invite the young people of the Church to learn about and experience the Spirit of Elijah… As you respond in faith to this invitation, your hearts shall turn to the fathers. The promises made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will be implanted in your hearts. Your patriarchal blessing, with its declaration of lineage, will link you to these fathers and be more meaningful to you. Your love and gratitude for your ancestors will increase. Your testimony of and conversion to the Savior will become deep and abiding. And I promise you will be protected against the intensifying influence of the adversary. As you participate in and love this holy work, you will be safeguarded in your youth and throughout your lives. ~David A. Bednar, The Hearts of the Children Shall Turn, Conference October 2011

“Any work you do in the temple is time well spent, but receiving ordinances vicariously for one of your own ancestors will make the time in the temple more sacred, and even greater blessings will be received. The First Presidency has declared, ‘Our preeminent obligation is to seek out and identify our own ancestors’ (First Presidency letter, Feb. 29, 2012; emphasis added)” Richard G. Scott, “The Joy of Redeeming the Dead,” Oct. 2012 general conference

“Family history is not simply an interesting program or activity sponsored by the Church; rather, it is a vital part of the work of salvation and exaltation. You have been prepared for this day and to build up the kingdom of God. You are here upon the earth now to assist in this glorious work.”- David  A. Bednar
"The Hearts of the Children Shall Turn", Liahona and Ensign, November 2011

“There is no greater blessing that you can have than to stand as a proxy in a great service to those who have gone beyond. And it will be your privilege and your opportunity and your responsibility to live worthy to go to the temple of the Lord and be baptized in behalf of someone else.”-President Gordon B. Hinckley "Baptisms for the Dead: What to Know Before You Go" Apr 2004

I love having the opportunity to work on my family history it makes  be grateful for those people before me that made alot of efforts to stay in the gospel and defend what they believe in and its a great responsability for us to help those that didnt learned about it  and now they are waiting for us to help them. family history or geneology can help us be closer to our ancesters and be prepare for when we meet them gain.

Love

  • "A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. The thoughts we think, the deeds we do, the lives we live not only influence the success of our earthly journey, they also mark the way to our eternal goals."  President Thomas S. Monson, "Heavenly Homes, Forever Families", World Wide Leadership Training February 2006

  • "Our lives should be examples of goodness and virtue as we try to emulate His example to the world. Good works by each of us can do credit both to the Savior and His Church. As you are engaged in doing good, being honorable and upright men and women, the Light of Christ will be reflected by your lives." --L. Tom Perry, "Perfect Love Casteth Out Fear", October 2011 General Conference

  • "Waiting upon the Lord gives us a priceless opportunity to discover that there are many who wait upon us. Our children wait upon us to show patience, love, and understanding toward them. Our parents wait upon us to show gratitude and compassion. Our brothers and sisters wait upon us to be tolerant, merciful, and forgiving. Our spouses wait upon us to love them as the Savior has loved each one of us." --Robert D Hale, "Waiting upon the Lord: Thy Will Be Done", October 2011 General Conference

  • "Great things are wrought through simple and small things. Like the small flecks of gold that accumulate over time into a large treasure, our small and simple acts of kindness and service will accumulate into a life filled with love for Heavenly Father, devotion to the work of the Lord Jesus Christ, and a sense of peace and joy each time we reach out to one another." --M. Russell Ballard, "Finding Joy though Loving Service", April 2011 General Conference

  • "Because love is the great commandment, it ought to be at the center of all and everything we do in our own family, in our Church callings, and in our livelihood. Love is the healing balm that repairs rifts in personal and family relationships. It is the bond that unites families, communities, and nations. Love is the power that initiates friendship, tolerance, civility, and respect. It is the source that overcomes divisiveness and hate. Love is the fire that warms our lives with unparalleled joy and divine hope. Love should be our walk and our talk." --Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "The Love of God", Ensign, Nov. 2009, 21–24

  • "Cultivate an attitude of happiness. Cultivate a spirit of optimism. Walk with faith, rejoicing in the beauties of nature, in the goodness of those you love, in the testimony which you carry in your heart concerning things divine." --Gordon B. Hinckley, "The Spirit of Optimism", New Era July 2001, 4

  • "Stresses in our lives come regardless of our circumstances. We must deal with them the best we can. But we should not let them get in the way of what is most important-and what is most important almost always involves the people around us. Often we assume that they must know how much we love them. But we should never assume; we should let them know. Wrote William Shakespeare, "They do not love that do not show their love."3 We will never regret the kind words spoken or the affection shown. Rather, our regrets will come if such things are omitted from our relationships with those who mean the most to us." --Thomas S. Monson, "Finding Joy in the Journey", Liahona, Nov 2008, 84–87

  • "Despite the changes which come into our lives and with gratitude in our hearts, may we fill our days-as much as we can-with those things which matter most. May we cherish those we hold dear and express our love to them in word and in deed." --Thomas S. Monson, "Finding Joy in the Journey,", Liahona, Nov 2008, 84–87

  • "There is help. There is happiness. There really is light at the end of the tunnel. It is the Light of the World, the Bright and Morning Star, the "light that is endless, that can never be darkened." It is the very Son of God Himself. It is the return of hope, and Jesus is the Sun. To any who may be struggling to see that light and find that hope, I say: Hold on. Keep trying. God loves you. Things will improve. Christ comes to you in His "more excellent ministry" with a future of "better promises." He is your "high priest of good things to come." --Jeffrey R. Holland, "An High Priest of Good Things to Come", Ensign, Nov. 1999, p. 36

  • "God offers us counsel not just for our own safety but for the safety of His other children, whom we should love. There are few comforts so sweet as to know that we have been an instrument in the hands of God in leading someone else to safety. That blessing generally requires the faith to follow counsel when it is hard to do." --Henry B. Eyring, "Safety in Counsel", Liahona, Jun 2008, 2–7
For this topic i found really great quotes that really help me understand more  on this topics and i know that love is something really sacraed that have to be develop with the time and we have to love others and serve them as much as we can as we love our selves and first we have to love God and be have to be grateful for the love he show us thru his many blessings that we receive day by day.like pres. Utchdorf said "Love is the healing balm that repairs rifts in personal and family relationships. It is the bond that unites families, communities, and nations. Love is the power that initiates friendship, tolerance, civility, and respect. It is the source that overcomes divisiveness and hate. Love is the fire that warms our lives with unparalleled joy and divine hope. Love should be our walk and our talk."

Marriage

Marriage should not be treated as a contract entered by pleasure from both partners that can be easily broken if it “doesn’t work out” without even regarding the children. Children need families with a mother and a father with a strong conviction to the gospel~ Dallin H. Oaks, Protect the Children, Conference October 2012

Early in our marriage, often I would open my scriptures to give a message in a meeting, and I would find an affectionate, supportive note Jeanene had slipped into the pages. Sometimes they were so tender that I could hardly talk. Those precious notes from a loving wife were and
continue to be a priceless treasure of comfort and inspiration. “The Eternal Blessings of Marriage," Elder Scott April 2011

"The secret of a happy marriage is to serve God and each other. The goal of marriage is unity and oneness, as well as self-development. Paradoxically, the more we serve one another, the greater is our spiritual and emotional growth."--Ezra Taft Benson, "Fundamentals of Enduring Family Relationships," Ensign, Nov. 1982, 59

Happiness does not consist of a glut of luxury, the world’s idea of a “good time” Nor must we search for it in faraway places with strange sounding names. Happiness is found at home. ~ Thomas S. Monson, Hallmarks of a Happy Home, Ensign October 2001

Allow marriage and family to be a great source of happiness to you by being completely faithful to your spouse, speaking uplifting to them, expressing to them your feelings of love, and spending great time with your children.~ Elder Richard G. Scott, The Eternal Blessing of Marriage, Conference April 2011

Differences of opinion occur between husband and wife. But one’s objective in marriage is never to win an argument, but to build an eternal relationship of love. —Russell M. Nelson, Worldwide Leadership Training, January 2012

Marriage is the foundry for social order, the fountain of virtue, and the foundation for eternal exaltation. Marriage has been divinely designated as an eternal and everlasting covenant. Marriage is sanctified when it is cherished and honored in holiness. That union is not merely between husband and wife; it embraces a partnership with God.”Russell M. Nelson“Nurturing Marriage,” Ensign, May 2006, 36

Marriage is like climbing a mountain. You tie yourself to a companion, and you start up the mountain of life. As a child comes along, you tie him to Mom and Dad and continue your journey. The ropes will hold all of the mountain climbers together. But there are many elements—the wind and the rain and the snow and the ice—all the elements of the world will tear at you to pull you off that eternal mountain. How do you reach the summit? -Elder Robert D. Hales " Preparing  for a Heavenly Marriage" Feb 2006

“I have long felt that happiness in marriage is not so much a matter of romance as it is an anxious concern for the comfort and well-being of one’s companion,” - Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley "Teachings of Gordon B. Hinckley (1997), 325.

Do you tell your wife often how very much you love her? It will bring her great happiness. I’ve heard men tell me when I say that, “Oh, she knows.” You need to tell her. A woman grows and is greatly blessed by that reassurance. Express gratitude for what your spouse does for you. Express that love and gratitude often. That will make life far richer and more pleasant and purposeful. Don’t withhold those natural expressions of love. And it works a lot better if you are holding her close while you tell her.—Elder Richard G. Scott,“The Eternal Blessings of Marriage,” Ensign, May 2011, 95

From this topic I learned that marriage is something really especial that God gave to us together with taking care of a family. one of the goals of marriage is not only to have a eternal family, but also to have unity to serve one another. marriage is sacred and in these latters days is being attack with different ideas that dont go with God's commanmendts. I am glad that this past week i was able to get marry in the temple for eternity i know i would recieve a lot of blessings for follow this commandments, im going to apply each of these principals to my life and with my family in the future.

Agency

  • "I know that God loves us. He allows us to exercise our moral agency even when we misuse it. He permits us to make our own decisions. Christ cannot help us if we do not trust Him; He cannot teach us if we do not serve Him. He will not force us to do what's right, but He will show us the way only when we decide to serve Him. Certainly, for us to serve in His kingdom, Christ requires that we experience a change of thought and attitude."--Thomas S. Monson, "Looking Back and Moving Forward", Ensign, May 2008, 87–90
  • "Impressions of the Spirit can come in response to urgent prayer or unsolicited when needed. Sometimes the Lord reveals truth to you when you are not actively seeking it, such as when you are in danger and do not know it. However, the Lord will not force you to learn. You must exercise your agency to authorize the Spirit to teach you. As you make this a practice in your life, you will be more perceptive to the feelings that come with spiritual guidance. Then, when that guidance comes, sometimes when you least expect it, you will recognize it more easily." --Richard G. Scott, "To Acquire Spiritual Guidance", Ensign, Nov 2009, 6–9
  • "We voluntarily came from the presence of God the Father to this mortal probation with agency, knowing we would have "opposition in all things" (2 Nephi 2:11). Our objective is to take upon us the whole armor of God and withstand "the fiery darts of the wicked" with the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit, to endure to the end, and to be worthy to stand and live in the presence of God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, for all eternity-to achieve what is called eternal life." --Elder Robert D. Hales, "Blessings of the Temple", Ensign Oct 2009, 46–49
  • "Tests and trials are given to all of us. These mortal challenges allow us and our Heavenly Father to see whether we will exercise our agency to follow His Son. He already knows, and we have the opportunity to learn, that no matter how difficult our circumstances, “all these things shall be for our experience, and our good." --Robert D Hales, "Waiting upon the Lord: Thy Will Be Done", October 2011 General Conference
  • "As we look into the future, we are going to need to be stronger and more responsible for our choices in a world where people "call evil good, and good evil." We do not choose wisely if we use our agency in opposition to God's will or to priesthood counsel. Tomorrow's blessings and opportunities depend on the choices we make today." --James E. Faust, "Choices", Liahona, May 2004, 51–54
  • "The voice of the Spirit speaks gently, prompting you what to do or what to say, or it may caution or warn you. Ignore or disobey these promptings, and the Spirit will leave you. It is your choice--your agency." --President Boyd K. Packer; Ensign, November 1994, page 60.
  • "To fully understand this gift of agency and its inestimable worth, it is imperative that we understand that God's chief way of acting is by persuasion and patience and long-suffering, not by coercion and stark confrontation. He acts by gentle solicitation and by sweet enticement. He always acts with unfailing respect for the freedom and independence that we possess. He wants to help us and pleads for the chance to assist us, but he will not do so in violation of our agency. He loves us too much to do that, and doing so would run counter to his divine character." --Howard W. Hunter, "The Golden Thread of Choice", Ensign, Nov. 1989, 17
Certainly, for us to serve in His kingdom, Christ requires that we experience a change of thought and attitude." --Thomas S. Monson, "Looking Back and Moving Forward", Ensign, May 2008, 87–90
  • “Agency allows us to be tested and tried to see whether or not we will endure to the end and return to our Heavenly Father with honor. … Agency permits us to make faithful, obedient choices that strengthen us so that we can lift and strengthen others.”Robert D. Hales“To Act for Ourselves: The Gift and Blessings of Agency,” Ensign, May 2006, 7–8.
  • “Because the eternal principle of agency gives us the freedom to choose and think for ourselves, we should become increasingly able to solve problems. We may make the occasional mistake, but as long as we are following gospel principles and guidelines, we can learn from those mistakes and become more understanding of others and more effective in serving them.”-M. Russell Ballard, “Be Wise,” Liahona, Nov. 2006
My favorite quote from this topic was “Agency allows us to be tested and tried to see whether or not we will endure to the end and return to our Heavenly Father with honor. … Agency permits us to make faithful, obedient choices that strengthen us so that we can lift and strengthen others.” because i know that this tell the true agency help us strength our faith and testimony and keep going and come back to him.
